Public consultation on the safety of nanotechnologies - PEROSH and the NEW OSH ERA network submitted joint comment Jun 25, 2009
The European Commission launched a public consultation on the safety of nanotechnologies in order to prepare a one-day scientific hearing, which will take place on 10 September 2009 in Brussels. The hearing will focus on the scientific aspects of the issues covered in the Scientific Committees' opinions related to Nanotechnology. The outcome of the public onsultation will be presented at the Scientific Hearing in September. The NEW OSH ERA network together with PEROSH - took a joint action and submitted a comment which was prepared by researchers of both networks. The comment draws attention on OSH aspects of the safety of nanotechnologies and points out the research needs in nanotoxicology with respect to occupational safety and health.
