NOE joint call: Psychosocial risks at work
The first NEW OSH ERA joint call took place in 2009 and focused on psychosocial risks at work. The proposals were requested to address one or more of the following issues:
1. Leadership and company culture in relation to employees’ wellbeing/health
2. Restructuring and changes in the world of work in relation to employees’ wellbeing/ health
3. Work-related psychosocial factors and health disorders
The call resulted in project proposals from fifteen research consortia for the first stage. Eight were invited to submit a full proposal for the second stage.
To be eligible, a minimum of three NEW OSH ERA partner countries had to be represented in each application. Applicants from other European countries and from outside Europe were welcome to participate on the basis of self-financing.
The selection procedure followed a two-stage procedure and was managed by the six NEW OSH ERA funding organisations (the Call Steering Committee, CSC) that did not take part in any of the research applications. The four funding organisations that did apply for funding were excluded from all meetings related to the selection process. The proposals, both First Stage and Second Stage, were submitted through an Electronic Proposal Submission System accessible via the NEW OSH ERA website. The CSC managed the selection of the first stage proposals. The selection of the second stage proposals was made by an external expert panel consisting of five senior experts selected by the CSC.
