Technical Rules

On this page, the "Bundesanstalt für Arbeitsschutz und Arbeitsmedizin" (Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, abbreviated to BAuA in German) provides a selection of guidance information for OSH measures at the workplace. 

• "Technische Regeln für Gefahrstoffe" (Technical Rules for Dangerous Substances, TRGS)
  The TRGS rules are drawn up by the "Ausschuss für Gefahrstoffe" (Committee on Dangerous Substances, AGS), which also adapts them in line with developments. They set out the current OSH-related, hygiene-related and ergonomic requirements which have to be met when placing dangerous substances on the market and handling them.
  
  The legal basis for these Rules is established by Section 52 of the "Gefahrstoffverordnung" (Ordinance on Dangerous Substances).
  
  TRGS rules are published by Germany´s Federal Ministry of Economics and Labour in the "Bundesarbeitsblatt" (Federal Labour Gazette, BArbBl).
  
• "Technische Regeln für Biologische Arbeitsstoffe" (Technical Rules for Biological Agents, TRBA)
  This section includes all TRBA rules published to date and the latest versions of all resolutions adopted by the "Ausschuss für Biologische Arbeitsstoffe" (Committee on Biological Agents, ABAS).
  
• "Regeln zum Arbeitsschutz auf Baustellen" (Rules on Occupational Safety and Health on Construction Sites, RAB)
  The RAB rules describe the state of the art with regard to safety and health on construction sites. They are drawn up by the "Ausschuss für Sicherheit und Gesundheitsschutz auf Baustellen" (Committee on Safety and Health on Construction Sites, ASGB), which also adapts them in line with developments.
  
• "Technische Regeln für Betriebssicherheit" (Technical Rules for Industrial Safety and health , TRBS)
