Construction Site Ordinance

bild zum thema 'baustellenverordnung' The Construction Site Ordinance (abbreviated to "BaustellV" in German), which entered into force on 1 July 1998, transposes the European Construction Site Directive, 92/57/EEC, into German law.

  • The Construction Site Ordinance can be viewed here:
  • RAB - "Regeln zum Arbeitsschutz auf Baustellen"  ("Rules for Occupational Safety and Health on Construction Sites")
These rules were adopted by the Ausschuss für Sicherheit und Gesundheitsschutz auf Baustellen (ASGB) (Committee for Safety and Health Protection on Construction Sites). They support the Construction Site Ordinance and other legislation as well as replacing the Erläuterung zur Baustellenverordnung ("Explanatory notes on the Construction Site Ordinance", as amended on 15 January 1999) [Issue 3/1999 of the Bundesarbeitsblatt ("Federal Labour Gazette"].
  • To supplement the RAB rules, the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (abbreviated to BAuA in German) compiled a set of FAQs concerning the Construction Site Ordinance , which it put together in consultation with other stakeholders.
  • Industry focus: building work and construction sites, Construction Site Ordinance
Research on the OSH aspects specific to the construction industry is conducted at the BAuA. The Institute carries out projects itself but also commissions projects by public tender, which it then supervises.
  • Statement of legislative intent concerning the Construction Site Ordinance
  • "Netzwerk Baustelle" (Construction Site Network)
A nationwide campaign aimed at evaluating the Construction Site Ordinance, run by the federal states' OSH authorities and the accident insurance institutions.
  • Action programme for the implementation and application of the Construction Site Ordinance
  • The "Sicherheit und Gesundheitsschutz auf Baustellen" ("Safety and health on construction sites") brochure contains both the text of the Construction Site Ordinance and the new "Rules for Occupational Safety and Health on Construction Sites" (RAB rules).
