Workplace health promotion

Workplace health promotion aims to foster health-conscious behaviour and reduce avoidable health risks at the workplace.

These measures maintain and enhance workers' well-being.

• "Deutsche Forum Prävention und Gesundheitsförderung"  (German Forum on Prevention and Health Promotion)
  The Forum - an alliance of German associations and institutions (71 at the moment) active in the field of prevention and health promotion - is the platform upon which joint goals, content, measures and instruments are agreed, initiated and communicated. In addition to regular reports concerning the Forum's work, the site also provides information and tips on how to live a healthy life and how to look after your health and that of your family in a responsible manner.
• European Network for Workplace Health Promotion (ENWHP)
  ENWHP has set itself the task of ensuring Europe-wide awareness of the holistic concept of workplace health promotion. The network coordinates the exchange of information and dissemination of examples of best practice in Europe.
  An English database of successful methods and instruments for workplace health promotion has been in place since August 2004 and can be used free of charge and without having to register.
  
   To the database - which currently comprises more than 200 tools from 23 European countries
• Information on workplace health promotion ,
  provided at ERGO online , the news service within the Sozialnetz-Hessen (social network of the federal state of Hesse), which covers all OSH issues and focuses on screen work. 
• Work and Health
  Working with enterprises, workers and various partners, the Health Section of the Bundesverband der Betriebskrankenkassen (BKK)  (Federal Association of Company Health Insurance Funds) has developed strategies, procedures and tools for preventing work-related health risks and promoting health at the workplace. 
• Health & Work
  A website, run jointly by the statutory accident insurance institutions and the health insurance companies, on prevention of work-related health risks. Includes information on the KOPAG and IPAG projects.
• Institut für Betriebliche Gesundheitsförderung (Institute for Workplace Health Promotion)
  AOK Rheinland (the Rhineland division of the AOK health insurance company) set up the Institute for Workplace Health Promotion as a service for its member companies and the AOK Rheinland regional head offices.
• Best Practice
  Successful examples of workplace health promotion in the Rhineland area - a document produced by the Institute for Workplace Health Promotion

• AOK-Service Gesunde Unternehmen (ASGU) (AOK Healthy Enterprise Service)
  An initiative of AOK's Saxony-Anhalt branch
• infoline GESUNDHEITSFÖRDERUNG (HEALTH PROMOTION infoline)
  An information service run by the South and Central Hessian "Health at the Workplace" working group of the German Center for Productivity and Innovation (RKW)
  The service provides information concerning questions such as, "In what situations can workplace health promotion help?", "What problems can it solve?" and "What tools exist for workplace health promotion?".   
• Gesünder am Computer: GiGA zeigt, wie's geht ("Advice from GiGA on healthier computer work")
  A service provided by the "Gesünder Arbeiten" ("Healthier Work") initiative
• The Dermalux® System
  This training aid for personal and hand hygiene can be used to 
  • show immediately how cross-contamination happens,
  • provide instruction on how to wash one's hands correctly, 
  • provide evidence that disinfection measures have been correctly conducted, 
  • give training on hand-drying and how to use gloves and
  • motivate people to protect and care for their hands.
