Dangerous substances can cause acute or chronic health damage to humans or be inflammable, explosive or a hazard to the environment.
"Prevention of risks when working with dangerous substances" was also the topic of 2003's European Week, the annual information campaign coordinated by the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work in Bilbao, Spain.
