  • Hand-arm vibrations
    It was decided that the new version of VDI 2057 should deal with exposure to whole-body vibrations and hand-arm vibrations in separate parts since the two topics are covered separately in international standards. 
  • Whole-body vibrations
    The new international standard ISO 2631-1 : 1997 necessitated a revision of VDI 2057 Part 1. The amended regulation has resulted in new assessment parameters. Existing hazard assessments may need to be reviewed.
  • KarLA - Catalogue of Representative Noise and Vibration Data at the Workplace, produced by the Potsdam "Landesamt für Arbeitsschutz" (Federal-State Institute for Occupational Safety, LAS) with support from the European Commission. In order to conduct hazard assessments concerning mechanical vibrations, it is necessary to know the exposure level and the resulting permissible exposure times. The database can also be used to select particularly low-vibration devices when deciding which product to buy...
